Natural elements and attractions:
The ecotourist touring begins in a holy place, the first monastic place in Wallachia, on the Vodita Valley , weaves near the Vodiţa river, on the Scoruş Valleyand returns at the Danube pe cărările Dealului Duhovnei. The route has a heelplate shape, which begins and ends past two nearby viaducts. Those who pass through it can see the beauties of nature and the Romanian faith.
Before climbing the Vodita Valley, the wall dug in the cliff keepsthe marks of the geological events spent hundreds of million years ago: overlapping of Pânza Geticaand Autochthon Danubian, Parautochton of Severin having the right of “ lubrecant”.
The Vodita Valley, which seems to be ordained to tourism, is like a paradise of vulnerary herbs. The one who wants different remedies for affections, can pick up within bounds , of the flowers, the leaves of the plants even today with marvelous action.
In order to know other valleys with healing power , the touring turns off almost in straight angle on the Scoruş Valley and then like a coil it climbs Duhovna Hill, from where, if you pay attention, you can admire the regions of the Bahna-Orsova Depression.
The path goes on the west side of the Duhovna Hill, hill with secular Turkey nut tree forests. The forests of this hill are protected, here being another sylvan reservation of the Iron Gates Natural Park. In the past it was called the forest with old trees. The old trees were trunks of trees (especially oak), fallen to the ground, which in time, by the agency of rain, wind, sun, were becoming white. At a distance they looked like some big, white bones. If you are lucky, walking along the path, you can still see today these kinds of old trees.
The forest is represented on the side of the route entrance of mixture of holm with oriental hornbeamand hornbeam, and holm forest at the end of the touring on the Duhovna Hill.
The fauna is rich in different reptiles, forest birds, carnivorous and vegetarian mammals as well as avifauna characteristic for the Bahna Gulf and the Danube.
